The Diversity of Landscapes, Plants and Animals is incredible.

Ethiopia is said to be the land of beauty and contrast which ranges from the top of the rugged Semien Mountains (4.656m above sea level) to the depth of the Danakil Depression (160m below sea level).

Ethiopia offers an astonishing variety of landscapes: Afro alpine highlands soaring to around 4.300m, moors and mountains, the splendor of Great Rift Valley, rivers, savanna , giant waterfalls, dense and lush jungles, … The list is endless.

Thanks to its rich and varied topography and climate, Ethiopia is the home of a great number of wild animals and plants typical for the different altitudes and climates.

Along with this rich topography, five main climatic zones are influencing the diversity of the wildlife:
Hot, semi-hot, semi-humid, cool to cold-humid zone and the cold zone.

Ethiopia is a country of 12 months of sunshine, and its main rainy season happens in June-July-August.

Ethiopia’s biodiversity is unique even when compared to its neighbors.
There are over 6,000 species of plants, 277 species of mammals, out of which 35 endemic species, and more than 800 species of birds.
