1. Addis Ababa

Arrive in Addis Ababa , transfer to Hotel. After noon city tour of Addis Ababa. Overnight in hotel.

2. Fly Addis – Gondar

Fly to Gondar, transfer to Hotel. After noon city tour of Gondar which includes the 17th C AD castle compound, bath of Fassila des m the founder of city of Gondar as a capital city in 1632. Debre birhan sillase church which has more than 320 years old with its beautiful wall and ceiling painting. Overnight in hotel

3. Gondar   -  Debark

Early in the morning drive to Debark where the head quarter of the Semein mountains national park. On the way visit the Felasha (the house of Israeli) village called Weleka , though there are no more Felasha people you will enjoy the potteries and basketries that the people make which was originally culture of the Felasha people and their traditional house  and passing through beautiful mountain scenery en route. In Debark we are going have lunch till entrance fees, Guide from the national park and scout are organised.

Afternoon drive in to the national park up the place called Sankaber  situated at an altitude of 3250 m above sea level enjoying the spectacular view of the semein mountain which makes Ethiopia to be called “ the roof of Africa “ .  On the way you may encounter also the Geladal baboon sometimes it is called the bleeding heart baboon, which is endemic baboon to Ethiopia and different bird life like thick billed raven and Lammergeyer.  When you are closer the campsite do acclimatisation walking along the escarpment which may take one hour to one and half hours enjoying the mountains formed by tectonic volcano.    Overnight camping in Sankaber campsite.  

4.  Sankaber – Gich

Today starts the day by organising stuffs to be transported by mule to the second campsite together with the cooking materials and camping gears and stuffs that you need to take with you. After breakfast from the cook start the trekking to the second campsite called Gich (3600M above sea level) which will take 5 to 6 hours. During the trekking you are going to enjoy the spectacular scenery of the landscape including fall which flow over a 500m cliff. You may spot also some wild life like that of Gelada baboon, Klipspringers, Menelik Bush back which is also endemic to Ethiopia. Bird life and different types of plant like Haginica Abysinica (endemic tree), Erica Arborea, and Abyssinian rose, Gaint lobelia and so on.  Passing the farming field of the Gich village you will reach the campsite which has got the spectacular view of wide range of mountain. Overnight Camping in Geech. 

5. Gich – Imet gogo – Chenek

Start out in the morning for the summit of Imet Gogo (3926m above sea level) to enjoy the 360° view of the national park and the Semein Mountain. On the way you may spot Red Jackal which also endemic to Ethiopia and the Gelada baboon.  Here you experience also the afro alpine vegetation where you find mainly the giant lobelia and everlastings. Proceed to Chenek campsite ( 3620m above sea level). When you reach closer to the campsite  you will also spot the Walia ibex the other endemic animal which is found only in semein mountains clifs. Today’s trekking takes 8 – 9 hours. Overnight Chenek campsite. 

6. Chenek – Ambiko

Start the trekking early morning to Ambiko  which takes 8 - 9  hours, the base camp to Ras Dashen  crosses though the Bwahit pass (4430m above sea level) . From Bwahit pass the path leads steeply down across the Mesesha valley. Here you will notice an increase in temperature as you decend down to Mesesha valley(2750m a.s.l) then shor climb up will take you to the Ambiko camp site (3200m a.s.l) . overnight camping 

7. Ambiko – Ras dashen – Ambiko

Today is the summit day which will take 9- 10  hours. To begin, the path climbs steeply through barley fields until it reaches a mountain steppe. From there it flattens out as it traverses ridges in the shadow of Ras Dashen. At the top (4543m) you will be able to see far into the country. Then Back to Ambiko campsite overnight camping 

8. Ambiko – chenek

Trek back to Chenek.  Overnight camping

9. Chanak -  Gonda – Addis

Morning  drive  to Gondar  Ariport  for  the flight to Addis Ababa.  Evening  back home
